Suginami Aikikai is proud to present the San Francisco Aikido Project (www.sfaikidoproject.com/).
We wil be hosting a seminar on April 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th in 2007.
The featured instructior is Christian Tissier Sensei, 7th dan - Chief Instructor Circle De Tissier, Paris France (www.christiantissier.com/).
"Christian Tissier was born in Paris, February 7, 1951. He started studying Aikido in 1962 with Jean-Claude Tavernier, then soon afterwards with Master Nakazono."
There will also be Aikido classes taught by Pat Hendricks Sensei (6th Dan, www.aikido-sanleandro.com/), Howard Hoa Newens Sensei (6th Dan, www.aikidoinstitutedavis.com/), and James Friedman Sensei (5th Dan, suginamisf.com/).

In addition to Aikido, the seminar will also offer classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Clovis Silva (4th dan and 4 time Brazilian BJJ Champion), and a meditation class led by Jack Kornfield of Spirit Rock (www.spiritrock.org/).

speaking of which, I hope to be able to do some weapons training after new yr AND due to a series of odd confluences maybe have some free thursdays, so I am aiming to get in to Suginami for a noon or evening weapons class next month. -

Thu, December 21, 2006 - 12:56 PMI'm putting Thursday Jan 4 on the calendar...note there is class at 6-7 pm AND 7-8 pm. Are both weapons/is there a difference btwn the two? -

Next time, send me a message to my profile, that gets sent to my gmail and I check it constantly.
Both are weapons classes. They are basically the same. The 7-8 class is a tad less basic. We usually recommend beginners (which you aren't) train for two months before attending the 7-8 evening classes. -

Wed, January 17, 2007 - 9:05 AMwell, life got in the way (sigh) w/ need to travel to/from ny for family bidness...and now my Thurs night spanish class starts up again this wk.
so I think now I'll have to wait until spring break to get to the Thurs night weapons class at Suginami.
